John D. Killian Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
John D. Killian has extensive experience in business law, estate planning, public-sector labor law, and health-care regulatory compliance. A graduate of the Cornell University Law School, John Killian is a business lawyer with over fifty years of experience representing corporations, associations and individuals in business and commercial transactions, such as corporate reorganizations, real estate development projects, mergers and acquisitions. Drawing upon his experience as Deputy Attorney General of Pennsylvania, he represents agencies as well as corporate and private citizens in court and before virtually all of the boards, agencies and commissions of state government. He regularly advises clients with regard to health care, retirement, business, employment and ERISA issues. In his volunteer role, Mr. Killian currently serves as Chair of the Pennsylvania Community Service Advisory Board by appointment of then Governor Tom Ridge. Mr. Killian also provides legal services in the planning and administration of wills and estates. "Many people are in the dark when it comes to planning their wills and estates," says Mr. Killian. "For example, they may not know what portion is taxable, what happens to joint ownership, and what exactly does and does not go into the will. Often people are unaware of the difference between a will and a living will. I feel that people are doing themselves a favor when they come to us sooner rather than later, when they need help planning their legacies."
