Michael J. O'Connor has a diverse practice including civil litigation, public-sector labor law, business law, and environmental law.

A graduate of Widener Law School in 1995, Michael O'Connor started his legal career as in-house counsel for an insurance company. For five years, he litigated numerous cases in both Pennsylvania and Maryland, and he supervised his company's litigation throughout the country. With his expertise in insurance defense and personal injury law, Mr. O'Connor has since broadened his litigation experience to include environmental law, landlord-tenant relationships, consumer law, and education-related litigation.

From his time in the trenches, Mr. O'Connor has mastered the ins and outs of insurance defense work, the resolution of coverage issues, and how claims adjusters determine the settlement value of cases. He says, "I am lucky to have gained the valuable understanding of both sides of the business. With this background, I can provide the kind of service that clients can't find elsewhere."

Mr. O'Connor has also gained considerable experience in environmental law. "Because we've been defending a small township against an aggressive, national corporate entity, I've been forced to master the intricacies of environmental law. Municipalities and concerned citizens' groups won't find more dedicated or well-equipped attorneys advising them on the impact of environmental law on their lives, or to represent them in legal disputes where environmental law is at issue.
